Srinagar, Sep 25 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was adjourned for half an hour on Friday amid an uproar by BJP members over the reference to the 2000 autonomy resolution in a resolution moved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
BJP members, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), stormed into the Well of the House and raised slogans, including “Jahan hua balidan Mukherjee, woh Kashmir hamara hai” and “Jo Kashmir hamara hai, woh saara ka saara hai.”
The commotion erupted during a discussion on the resolution seeking the immediate and urgent restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Members from the National Conference defended the reference, maintaining that the party would continue to pursue the rights of Jammu and Kashmir. As the uproar continued, members from both sides raised slogans, prompting the Speaker to intervene and eventually adjourn the House for half an hour.—(KNO)
